Feedback for Proposed Changes to the DPRA regulations

I want to comment on the member who feels that on the schedule 2 medication, these sales need to be all processed similar to prescriptions so that we can track codeine use better. I however think this would be too time consuming for most Pharmacists. Also this does not stop patiends from buying tylenol # 1 from numerous pharmacies. I think a better option would be to make tylenol #1 an NMS monitor drug which would require each purchaser to present their health card. this could then be filled like a prescription and the NMS system would flag the last time this medicine was purchased and from where. this might also give the pharmacist a better opportunity to detect abuse or misuse of this drug. Currently, pharmacist have no way of knowing how often and from where people purchase there codeine products. We are held accountable for this but yet have no proper means to track this.
