Coupons Used in sale of schedule II drugs

Council endorsed a Drug Advisory Committee recommendation to notify drug manufacturers of the College's concern over the use of coupons in the sale of Schedule ll drugs.

In the Committee's view, coupon promotions can prompt the sale of drugs through economic incentives rather than actual need. Although the decision to sell a Schedule ll product must be made by a pharmacist, intern or supervised registered pharmacy student, it is felt that coupons can interfere with an impair these obligations.
