Reminder: Expanded Scope Manual a Helpful Resource

The College continues to receive questions from pharmacists about their duties and responsibilities regarding expanded scope activities. We strongly encourage members to review the Expanded Scope of Practice Orientation Manual. You’ll find it to be a helpful resource that you can continually reference.

The manual includes information on:

  • Initiating therapy (smoking cessation)
  • Renewing or adapting a prescription
  • Administering substances by injection or inhalation for demonstration purposes
  • Documentation and notification

Read the Expanded Scope of Practice Orientation Manual. Please remember to bookmark this page for future reference.

Important Change for Ontario PharmD Graduates

Given enhancements to the experiential requirements within their curriculum, PharmD graduates from the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo are no longer required to complete the College’s Structural Practical Training (SPT) internship program. Once they graduate, however, they must register as an intern with the College to engage in the practice of pharmacy.
