Summary

This interactive workshop will introduce the pharmacist to the use of laboratory data in the provision of patient care focusing on commonly seen scenarios in ambulatory care. It will use cases and practical examples to demonstrate use of lab data.

Learning Objectives:


Describe professional responsibilities of pharmacists when using lab values

Describe basic reasons for use of lab values

Identify values outside the reference range for: Kidney function, Electrolytes, Anemia

Identify possible drug-related lab abnormalities

Identify lab tests that are important for monitoring select medications
