Summary
This course was designed to support pharmacists with expanded scope (recently introduced in some provinces) that enables them to administer injections (influenza vaccination, specifically) to children between the ages of two and five years. Prior to this, pharmacists were only authorized to administer vaccines to children five years of age and older. Special considerations for this population, such as needle size, injection technique, seating position, parent involvement, pain management, and the use of distractions, are covered in this course.
