Summary
The Designated Manager (DM) e-Learning module provides an overview of many of the key responsibilities of the DM. It is intended for current Designated Managers who wish to have a better understanding of their responsibilities as well as pharmacists who are considering the role in the future. The DM is the pharmacist who is designated by the owner of the pharmacy as the practitioner responsible for managing the pharmacy. Managing the pharmacy means being responsible for managing the environment, which includes the premises of the pharmacy; along with the equipment, systems and staffing required to protect against and mitigate risks associated with the delivery of services. Also, as manager of the pharmacy, the DM is responsible for establishing the culture to support pharmacy professionals to meet the standards of professional practice.
