Upon completion of this continuing education program participants will be better able to:
- Describe how guaifenesin works as a mucoactive agent to relieve congestion associated with common colds and upper respiratory tract infections;
- Review the approved indications for guaifenesin and the clinical efficacy of the drug, supported by the literature, in other conditions;
- Determine the dosage best suited for individuals experiencing cough and congestion from the common cold and flu;
- Discuss the use of combination products for temporary relief from chest, nasal and sinus congestion, headache, sore throat, and minor aches and pains.
