The 2025 survey on business pressures in pharmacy practice in Ontario is now open until June 26. Your responses will help us better understand how business pressures impact your ability to meet the standards of practice, including the Code of Ethics, as well as how they impact your own well-being.
All pharmacy professionals are invited to complete this survey, which will take approximately 15 minutes. Your participation in the survey is anonymous.
Why we are asking you to complete another survey this year
In March 2024, thousands of you completed a shorter survey that led to the Under Stress and Duress report and the adoption of several strategies to address business pressures. Here’s why you should share your experience again:
- Identify the current state. Have things changed since 2024? Gotten better or worse? Are there new ways or different ways that pressures are happening? Your insights help us tailor our strategies to the current environment.
- Set a baseline. The only way to track progress over time is to have a baseline for comparison to future surveys. The 2024 survey is unable to be a baseline as it did not allow for us to match pressures to the right pharmacy corporation where respondents had multiple workplaces.
- Expand the focus on your well-being. The 2025 survey has additional questions on the impact of business pressures on your health and well-being and your career in pharmacy.
- Define the impact on patient care. The 2025 survey focuses on the impact of business pressures on your ability to provide safe and quality patient care, including the elements of patient care that are most affected.
- Contribute to a national picture of business pressures. We developed this survey with other pharmacy regulators to allow for collective analysis of pharmacy professionals’ experiences across the country.
Your insights will provide the critical evidence we need to continue our work to ensure that quality of care comes before business interests and that you have the autonomy to make decisions in the best interests of your patients. Learn more about our approach to addressing business pressures.
