Questions on Record Keeping or Scanning Requirements?

We recently updated our Record Keeping and Scanning Requirements fact sheet.

One of the updates reflects Health Canada’s clarification that as long as prescriptions are scanned into a secure database, there’s no need to retain the original written prescription. Take a look at the fact sheet to review the other revisions and learn more about the key record keeping and scanning requirements.

Reminder: Seeking Feedback on Proposed Changes to the DPRA Regulations

The College is currently seeking feedback on proposed revisions to the regulations related to the Drug and Pharmacies Regulation Act (DPRA) — Ontario Regulation 58/11.  These regulations provide the framework for the College to regulate pharmacy practice sites in Ontario.

Update: Based on feedback we received, we recently added three new questions to the DPRA consultation page under "Common Questions." The new questions provide further clarification around "owners" of hospital pharmacies, record retention periods and advertising requirements.
