Language Proficiency Requirements for Pharmacy Technicians

Pharmacy technician applicants who are required to demonstrate their language proficiency as part of their pathway to registration and who submit objective evidence must meet the minimum acceptable scores for one of the objective tests listed below as set by NAPRA and within the standard error of measurement (SEM) where indicated.

The College only accepts test score reports sent directly from the testing institution.

ENGLISH TESTS

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) — Internet-based test or the TOEFL iBT Home Edition test.

  • Writing: 25 (SEM: 3)
  • Reading: 22 (SEM: 2)
  • Listening: 21 (SEM:2)
  • TOTAL: 91 (SEM: 5)

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) — Academic Format

  • Speaking: 6
  • Writing: 6
  • Reading: 6
  • Listening: 6
  • OVERALL BAND: 6.5 (SEM 0.5)
FRENCH TESTS
