Language Proficiency Requirements for Pharmacy Technicians

Pharmacy technician applicants who are required to demonstrate their language proficiency as part of their pathway to registration and who submit objective evidence must meet the minimum acceptable scores for one of the objective tests listed below as set by NAPRA and within the standard error of measurement (SEM) where indicated or by the College.

Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) – General

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) — Academic Format taken at an IELTS test centre. The College does not accept the IELTS Online.

  • OVERALL BAND: 6.5 (SEM 0.5)

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – General Training. There is no online version of this test.
