The College is seeking input from registrants, members of the public and system partners on proposed updates to the mandatory Assurance and Improvement in Medication Safety (AIMS) Program. The deadline for comment is November 23.

At the September 2025 meeting, the College’s Board of Directors approved a 60-day public consultation on proposed amendments to the supplemental Standard of Practice: Mandatory Standardized Medication Safety Program in Ontario Pharmacies that include:

At their previous meeting in June 2025, the Board of Directors also approved giving pharmacies flexibility and autonomy to select their own recording platform, provided it has the functionality to contribute to the National Incident Data Repository (NIDR) for Community Pharmacies and meets criteria outlined by the College. Community pharmacies would be responsible for platform costs, while the College would cover costs for submitting data to the NIDR.
