Board (Council) & Committees

You can view our video series on self regulation, which is designed to help those involved in the administration of the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) understand the regulatory regime, recognize their role and functions, and appreciate their duties and obligations.

The College Board is composed of:

• 7 elected pharmacists
• 2 elected pharmacy technicians
• 9 to 16 public members (appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario)
• 3 Deans from the faculties of pharmacy at University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and University of Ottawa

College committees support the work of the Board. The committees are made up of elected pharmacy professionals, public members and professional committee appointees..

Statutory Committees are required through legislation:

• Accreditation Committee
• Discipline Committee
• Executive Committee
• Fitness to Practise Committee
• Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee
• Patient Relations Committee
• Quality Assurance Committee
• Registration Committee

Standing Committees are created by the Board through by-laws:

• Drug Preparation Premises Committee
• Finance & Audit Committee
• Governance Committee
• Screening Committee
