Undergraduate from ACPE Pharmacy Program

If you are currently an undergraduate from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program and you wish to work as a pharmacy student follow the steps below:

If you intend to pursue registration as a pharmacist in Ontario once you graduate, you must enroll in the Pharmacists’ Gateway Canada (see Step 3 for further details) after you have graduated from your pharmacy program.

  • Graduate from your Program*
    • Your status as a pharmacy student registered with the College automatically expires when you graduate. You will no longer be able to practise the authorized acts of the profession until you are registered as an intern or pharmacist.
  • Pharmacists’ Gateway Canada
  • PEBC Document Evaluation
    • Your education and professional credentials must be evaluated and ruled acceptable as part of the PEBC Pharmacist US Document Evaluation
    • This is administered by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada

  • PEBC Qualifying Exam*
    • Successfully complete Parts I and II of the PEBC Qualifying Exam for pharmacists
    • This exam is administered by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada
    • If you are enrolled with the Gateway, the College will confirm your results with the Gateway
    • If you are not enrolled in the Gateway, you must submit your PEBC number to the College so that your results can be confirmed

Time & Cost Estimates

Many of the requirements for registration have expiry dates to ensure that your knowledge, skills and judgment are current at the time of your final application. The Fees & Timelines chart lists all registration-related fees and timelines to help you anticipate the time and costs required to register as a pharmacist in Ontario.

Following graduation from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program, a person who plans ahead to meet application deadlines and completes the requirements in the minimum time required may complete the process within four months.

Estimated fees paid to the College are $910 plus the annual fee. These fees are outlined in the College By-Laws.

Estimated fees paid to third parties are $3,455 plus the annual liability insurance premium.
