Graduate from ACPE Pharmacy Program

While you are enrolled in your pharmacy education program, you may practice pharmacy in Ontario under the supervision of a Part A pharmacist. For more information, refer to the Supervision of Pharmacy Personnel Policy.

If you have successfully completed an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program, follow the steps below to register as a pharmacist in Ontario.

Pharmacists’ Gateway Canada

Step 2:

PEBC Document Evaluation

  • Your education and professional credentials must be evaluated and ruled acceptable as part of the PEBC Pharmacist US Document Evaluation
  • This is administered by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada
Step 3:

Activate your online OCP account

Register as an Intern

Practice Assessment of Competence at Entry (PACE)*

Jurisprudence, Ethics and Professionalism Exam*

Step 4:

PEBC Qualifying Exam*

  • Successfully complete Parts I and II of the PEBC Qualifying Exam for pharmacists
  • You may complete this exam at any point after you have completed Step 2
  • This exam is administered by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada
  • The College will confirm your results with the Gateway

Time & Cost Estimates

Many of the requirements for registration have expiry dates to ensure that your knowledge, skills and judgment are current at the time of your final application. The Fees & Timelines chart lists all registration-related fees and timelines to help you anticipate the time and costs required to register as a pharmacist in Ontario.

Applicants who plan ahead to meet application deadlines and complete the requirements in the minimum time required may complete the process within four months.

Estimated fees paid to the College are $364 plus the annual fee. These fees are outlined in the College By-Laws.

Estimated fees paid to third parties are $3,425 plus the annual liability insurance premium.
