Performance & Accountability

As Ontario’s pharmacy regulator with a vision to drive quality and safe pharmacy care and improved patient outcomes, we’re engaged in and leading a number of programs, activities and initiatives designed to improve the care patients receive at their pharmacy.

A key goal for us is to consistently measure and improve the impact of College initiatives on our public mandate. As we take a systems approach we know that in order to strengthen our accountability to the public, we must ensure that our work aligns with the priorities of our entire health system.

We are constantly looking at how we can better use data and information to more effectively report on the performance of pharmacy and its impact on patient and health system outcomes but also on our own progress and performance as a regulator. We aim for well-governed data and high-integrity analytics to help guide our decisions.

We are also committed to enhancing transparency – a core value of our 2019-2021 (2022/2023) Strategic Plan – and believe that transparency is an essential enabler of public accountability and risk-based regulation. Transparency is central to the programs and key initiatives we lead.
