The Ontario College of Pharmacists supports the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s Dec. 16, 2014 announcement appointing a task force to review the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), which governs all regulated health professionals in the province. The task force will review and modernize the legislation designed to prevent and deal with sexual abuse of patients by regulated health professionals.

As the regulatory body for the profession of pharmacy in Ontario, our priority is to protect patients and we believe this review will help ensure the legislation continues to effectively support our mandate.
